Our area

The village of Montichelvo (sometimes spelt Montixelvo, Montitxelvo and Montitxelbo!) is situated in the Vall d'Albaida which runs inland from the coast around Gandia to Xátiva. Montichelvo was originally a Moorish settlement which is demonstrated in the village itself by its narrow streets and the surrounding terraced campo. It is predominantly habited by working Spanish, many of whom tend their crops in typical style. The ‘mulo’ still being a favoured vehicle for many of the senior inhabitants.

The Vall d'Albaida is surrounded by extensive mountain ranges with our own roof terraces providing fantastic views of the nearest range, the Peñyes Albas, with the peak of Benicadell, which rises to about 1100 metres, lying dramatically at the western end of this range.

These mountains provide breathtaking views, unspoilt trails, running streams with pretty waterfalls, olive and orange groves, ruins, picturesque villages, ruined castles and so much more.....

This area is easily accessible being roughly equidistant between Valencia and Alicante airports. More location details are available at our accommodation website www.casa-blanca-rural.com
